Insurance & Rates

Clear, upfront answers about how payment works at PlayGrow OT — our private-pay model, what a superbill is, what each session costs, and how to seek reimbursement from your insurance.

Our Payment Model

We are a private-pay practice, which means your child's care is decided by you and your therapist — never by an insurance reviewer. There are no waitlists, no limits on how often or how long we can see your child, and no one between you and the care your child needs.

Instead of billing insurance directly, we give you a superbill after each session that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We're happy to walk you through it. This model lets us offer faster scheduling, more one-on-one time with Cheryl, and parent coaching built into every session — without the restrictions insurance companies place on frequency or duration of treatment.

What a Superbill Is & How Reimbursement Works

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes everything your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim: the date of service, CPT procedure codes, a diagnosis code, and our provider information. You submit it to your insurance, and they reimburse you directly. Here's the process, step by step.

1

Receive your superbill

After each session we hand you a superbill — a detailed receipt with CPT codes, the diagnosis code, and our provider information.

2

Submit it to your insurance

You upload or mail the superbill to your insurance company through their member portal or app. It takes a few minutes.

3

It applies to out-of-network benefits

Your insurance applies the charge to your out-of-network deductible and coinsurance, just like any other out-of-network claim.

4

They reimburse you directly

Reimbursement comes back to you as a check or deposit — not to us. Many families receive partial or full reimbursement.

5

We help the first time

Submitting a superbill can feel unfamiliar the first time. We'll walk you through it, answer your insurance company's questions, and make sure you have everything you need.

Reimbursement isn't guaranteed and depends on your specific plan's out-of-network benefits. We can't promise what your insurance will cover, but we'll give you everything you need to file the claim.
